Catastrophic Level of Coverage
Official Definition:
“CMS defines this level as: Once you’ve spent $6,550 out-of-pocket in 2021, you’re out of the coverage gap. Once you get out of the coverage gap (Medicare prescription drug coverage), you automatically get “catastrophic coverage.” It assures you only pay a small coinsurance amount or copayment for covered drugs for the rest of the year.” – www.medicare.gov
[Medi-Care-Eez] Definition:
“Regarding the Part D Prescription Drug Plan, when you use up your initial coverage level and satisfy the coverage gap, you will then pay a flat copay for the rest of the year.”
